Microbt Unveils most recent Bitcoin Mining Rigs : Whatsminer M50 and M50S

Following Bitmain’s announcement of two new application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) bitcoin mining rigs, mining equipment maker Microbt has also announced the debut of two new miners.

Microbt’s new Whatsminer M50 series, which enables hashrate speeds of up to 126 terahash per second (TH/s), was unveiled during the Bitcoin 22 conference in Miami.

Bitcoin miners are becoming more powerful, as evidenced by the latest machines disclosed by Bitmain and Microbt, which show that next-generation mining rigs are capable of generating a significant amount of hashpower. Bitmain’s future mining rigs, which will have hashrate speeds of up to 255 TH/s, were previously reported on by Bitcoin.com News.

The first was the Antminer S19 XP, which was announced in November 2021 and has a hashrate of 140 TH/s, and the second was the Antminer S19 Pro+ Hyd., which has a computing power of up to 198 TH/s. Bitmain also unveiled the Antminer S19 XP Hyd., a hydro ASIC unit that produces a remarkable 255 TH/s, according to the company.

Whatsminer M50 and M50S on sale

New Microbt-branded Whatsminer ASIC bitcoin mining machines have been unveiled, with the latest series expected to ship in the third quarter of 2022. While the devices are not as strong as Bitmain’s most recent mining equipment, they are more powerful than the current machines on the market.

The company’s last bitcoin miner, the M30S++ (110 TH/s), was designed on a 5nm process, which improved upon it. Microbt also alluded at a hydro-cooling mining setup that will provide “240 TH/s of computational power at 29 J/TH of power efficiency” during the launch. On the manufacturer’s Whatsminer website, however, that Whatsminer M53 equipment is not yet shown or available for purchase.

Whatsminer M50S 126Th/s and Whatsminer M50 114Th/s

The M50S (126 TH/s) and M50 (114 TH/s) Whatsminer M50 series rigs are now available, with the M50S (126 TH/s) costing $10,924.20 and the M50 (114 TH/s) costing $8,857.80 respectively. A 110 TH/s mining rig will earn an estimated $10.48 per day in BTC profits using today’s BTC exchange rates and $0.12 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) in power.

According to current data, the two Whatsminer M50 series machines would be more profitable at today’s BTC pricing. Microbt also stated that it is prepared to serve new bitcoin mining regions, such as North America. According to the company’s news announcement, “Microbt is capable of producing and exporting over 30,000 pieces per month from its production site in Southeast Asia this year.”

The M50 series will assist customers in entering the 2X J/T mining era and staying in power that never ceases for ESG-friendly mining, according to Jianbing Chen, Microbt’s COO. Meanwhile, Microbt’s machines are set to arrive in “Q3 of 2022,” while Bitmain’s Antminer S19 XP series is set to hit the market in July 2022.
