Bitmain Unveils New Bitcoin Mining Machine That Uses Less Energy, Bitmain has announced that it is developing a new liquid-cooled bitcoin (BTC) mining rig that would be more energy efficient than its previous crypto mining equipment.

According to sources on March 14, 2022, the Antminer S19 XP Hyd ASIC miner has a computing power of 255 terahash per second (TH/s) at 20.8 joules per terahash (J/T) of power efficiency and runs on 5,304 watts.

Bitmain is releasing another high-performance ASIC miner just two months after announcing the Antminer S19 Pro+ Hyd, which has a hashrate of 198 terahash per second (TH/s), a power consumption of 5445 watts, and a power efficiency of 27.5 joules per terahash (TH), as well as the latest liquid cooling technology.

According to individuals familiar with the latest development, Bitmain Technologies Ltd, one of the world’s largest makers of bitcoin mining hardware, has released the Antminer S19 XP Hyd, a new high-end ASIC miner. Bitmain Unveils New Bitcoin Mining Machine That Uses Less Energy.

Bitmain has made it clear that the Antminer S19 XP Hyd is currently its most energy-efficient miner, with 255 terahash/second (TH/s) of computing power, 20.8 joules per terahash (J/T) of power efficiency, and an energy consumption rate of 5,304 watts. Crypto miners can purchase it for a whopping $19,890 per piece.

The Antminer S19 XP, Bitmain’s previous top offering, offers 140 TH/s at 21.5 J/T and costs $11,620 per unit. Bitmain Unveils New Bitcoin Mining Machine That Uses Less Energy.

The new Antminer S19 XP Hyd miner, like the S19 Pro+ Hyd, has a hydro cooling system and is anticipated to ship in the first quarter of 2023.

Bitmain has also announced the debut of the ANTSPACE HK3, a new bitcoin mining container that can comfortably hold 210 mining machines and consumes up to 1 kilowatt of power.

Bitmain claims that its latest energy-efficient miners can only be operated with containers made by the company.

Mining Solutions That Save Energy Are Crucial

At a time when the energy consumption of proof-of-work (PoW) based cryptocurrencies like bitcoin (BTC) and others has become a hot topic of debate in various jurisdictions around the world, with Kosovo becoming the latest country to outlaw crypto mining, the need for clean, energy-efficient mining has become critical, and industry stakeholders are working around the clock to make bitcoin mining as power-efficient as possible.

Block Inc (previously Square) CEO Jack Dorsey intimated last October that the company was exploring establishing an open-source bitcoin mining system built on bespoke silicon to decrease the barrier to entry for both businesses and individuals.

The suggested solution, according to Thomas Templeton Block’s general manager for hardware, will promote bitcoin mining efficiency and more, according to a twitter thread from earlier in January.
